holiday studio sale

I'm so excited about this weekend's studio sale at Stubborn!

Mel Stiles has been one of my long-time favorite jewelry artists (I own three of her gorgeous necklaces, I just can't get enough!) and she's opening her doors for a holiday studio sale this Saturday and Sunday!

Besides stunning jewelry, Mel will also be selling oh-so-cool purses and darling ornaments – so grab your list and head on over to the Stubborn Studio Sale this weekend!

Oh, almost forgot: I'll be there, too, for part of the time, selling some remaining Cecily Ink cards and gift wrap at rock-bottom prices ($1 per card and per sheet!).

Not only that, I'll be debuting my new line of illustrations that I originally created for my day planner client gift. I'll have both framed and unframed prints available (stay tuned for my Etsy shop Grand Opening in the next day or so!)

2010 calendar sneak peek

Every year, I create a special holiday gift for my Defteling Design clients. It's my way of thanking them for their business and giving something back that hopefully will make them smile in appreciation.

You may remember last year's gift (it's actually been selected to appear in the upcoming release of The Big Book of Green Design, yippie!):

I usually start thinking up ideas in June and this year has been no exception. For months now I've been noodling ideas and I'm so excited with how it's taking shape! Here's a sneak peek of some illustrations I've been working on:

For all you calendar fans, check back in the next few weeks – I haven't decided yet, but I might create a limited-edition CD calendar using these illustrations. If so, you'll be able to purchase them via my Cecily Ink Etsy shop.

last chance

Well, I've picked my official closing date: May 31. It's been an interesting few weeks as I've been busy shipping out orders and answering emails. I'm quite sad to close this chapter of my life, but hearing from all of you has been a huge help – thanks for being so supportive!

While I've been rather quiet on the blogging front lately, I will continue to share design ideas, great Etsy finds, and other noteworthy experiences.

I'm actually quite excited about Memorial Day weekend, when me and the boys (hubby Todd, collie mix Cooper, lab mix Pogo, and golden mix Tucker) get to spend three full days frolicking on the beach! I found a great pet-friendly cottage in Gearhart and will be taking lots of pictures to document our little getaway.

Then a few weeks later, I'll be heading to Spokane for my first Farm Chicks adventure. My friend Amy will have a booth there with Candywinkel and she's got lots of great new products that I can't wait to share with you all!

So, as the Cecily Ink door closes, the window to free weekends opens and I plan to make the most of it!

good news, bad news

I have some good news and some bad news. I know, if you're like me, you'd want the bad news first. So here it is: it's time to say goodbye to the Cecily Ink website and product line as you know it!

I've had a very fun ride these past two years and look back with pride and joy at all that my little card line has accomplished. But now it's time to move on.

And the good news? You guessed it, major closeout savings: everything is 50% off with no minimum purchase required! Just use "closeout" as the coupon code during checkout.

Plus, if you live in the Portland area, please stop by the Studio & Sample Sale at P. Flynn Design where you'll find lots of my cards and paper products at huge discounts, some marked down to 75% off if you pick through samples and slightly damaged seconds.

And of course, you'll be able to shop from Peggy Flynn's gorgeous collection of aromatic silk sachets, eye pillows, and boudoir pillows, also all hugely discounted. Perfect time if you need a little something for Mother's Day (just around the corner!)

Wow, I can't believe it's been two years already since I first launched Cecily Ink! That's sure worthy of a celebration, don't you think?

Yes, you read it correctly: through the end of the month, I'm offering 50% off everything in stock! Just fill your basket with at least $50 worth of product, enter the coupon code "take50" during check-out, and voilĂ  – watch as 50% of your total magically disappears!
(not valid with any other offers/coupons)

Just my little way of saying thank-you to all our Cecily Ink fans out there. Enjoy!

NOTE: Due to popular demand, I've extended the sale through Mother's Day!

feel-good art sale

Everyone knows I simply love to shop. There's nothing like the thrill of the hunt, finding that special something that you never knew you needed but, once found, you know you simply can't live without...

Okay, so that's pretty darn superficial, but what if you could shop AND help out kids at the same time?

It's happening this weekend and I can't wait to see what kind of treasures I'll snap up among 150+ artists all under one roof! Just think: 30% of everything I spend will go directly to help the school and its amazing arts program!

Yes, Cecily Ink will be there, proudly donating 30% of all sales. Plus, the first 20 shoppers who buy something from my table will get a free 2009 desk calendar! Shopping for a cause AND free stuff - does it get any better?!

Artisan Holiday Studio Sale

This time of year I'm participating in a lot of holiday bazaars and festivals across the greater Portland area, but I must admit that the one I'm most excited about is the one happening at my very own house!

It's my first-ever studio sale and I'm so excited to be sharing it with four other fabulous artists, all of whom I admire for their amazing talents and strong spirit.

I've known Amy Smith for years and we've collaborated on many projects, our most recent one being the launch of Candywinkel this past summer. Amy's passion for packaging is a perfect fit for this new venture. Her party favors and corporate gifts are the epitome of style, and her knack for finding unique and tasty candies is simply incredible. She'll have many holiday-themed at hand during the studio sale and will also be taking orders for special events.

Then there's Peggy Flynn with P Flynn Design whom I first met a year ago during the Portland Gift Show. Her aromatic sachets and silk pillows have a wonderfully relaxing and calming scent and her designs are fun and eclectic, especially her newest line, the Brown Box series. Elegant yet mysterious and slightly dark, these designs are what you might stumble across in an old curio cabinet – such little treasures!

Teri Sprouse with 2Monkees creates stunning jewelry and accessories. She has a real eye for detail and knows just what will work as a necklace or which piece will work better as a ring or hair clip. I'm especially drawn to her scrabble tile pendants with fun graphics and simply ball chain. It's such an easy way to add a bit of pizzazz to your outfit, and with Teri's low prices you can pick up several without breaking the bank!

And I just love the felted wool purses that Julie Goughnour creates over at Fuzzbags. Julie has a great eye for color and her whimsical designs are fun without being childish. She uses top-quality wool and her bags are ever so soft. I snapped up one of her purses the instant I spotted it at an event six months ago and it's been one of my faves ever since!

And of course, I'll have my full line of Cecily Ink paper products available. The Fresh Style Card File is a great gift idea (a gift of organization and preparation!) and if you haven't seen the new "mod floral" style yet, this will be a great time to check out all the new card designs. Plus choose from calendars, thank you cards, invitations, paper table settings, gift wrap, buttons, magnets and more. Best of all, I'll be offering several specials not available online!

So bring a friend, enjoy some complimentary cider and snacks, and shop our Artisan Holiday Studio Sale – you'll be sure to find something for everyone on your list. See you there!
